The project will provide information and practical support, on a one to one basis, to reduce energy costs, access financial help for existing fuel debts and offer a benefits check to maximise income to families with young children who are in, or at risk of, fuel poverty. Providing this help will reduce fuel poverty and enable parents to bring up their children in warm homes, giving children the best possible start in life. As well as relieving immediate problems providing energy efficiency advice and maximising incomes will mean that the project will leave a lasting legacy with families in Angus.
To effectively target the families most at risk in Angus we will be working in partnership with Home Start Angus and NHS Tayside Midwives.
