Project Summary –
The aim of the Blackburn with Darwen Healthy Living project is to enable fuel poor, vulnerable households to live in affordably warm, dry and comfortable homes, in control of their fuel use and their fuel costs. The Project will be delivered through:
• “One to One” Energy Advice Surgeries including household visits offering tailored advice if needed.
• Presentations to established groups such as parents & toddlers groups and dad’s groups.
• Community Roadshows in the heart of our community utilising our mobile health bus.
• Workshops in community venues and information stands in local schools at parent evenings.
The Project will initially run for 18 months with proactive fundraising ongoing with an aim to extend beyond this period. It will employ one full time Energy Efficiency Advisor who will be responsible for recruiting and managing 8 volunteer Community Energy Champions, and managing the project.
