The overall aim of the project is to improve the lives of people in Bristol who are living in cold, damp homes, or who are struggling to pay fuel bills and are at risk of, (or already have) fallen into arrears. This will be done by identifying these groups, clearing debts, supporting clients through the application for state benefits to which they are entitled, ensuring grant aided energy efficiency measures are installed wherever possible and providing advice on behavioural changes that can reduce future energy use, thus saving more money. The project will also enable the creation of a centralised fuel poverty referral system, will run a range of outreach events and follow up every client to ensure the services are fully accessed.
