The project will recruit a part time Fuel Poverty Advisor who will identify and support vulnerable families in the borough of Barnsley who are suffering from the effects of fuel poverty. The advisor will provide face to face advice in the homes of the project beneficiaries including undertaking benefit checks, energy supplier comparisons and support to change tariffs, applying for Warm Home Discounts and grants etc. An energy saving information pack will be provided during the home visit giving the opportunity to discuss the benefits and which will be more effective.
