Harrow Citizens Advice, Fuel Poverty Project aims to provide the following services to those most vulnerable families in fuel poverty:
1)Income maximisation to ensure that local families are claiming what they are entitled to this will include all benefits and tax credits including disability benefits.
2) Advice on dealing with fuel debt and increasing applications to the various energy company charitable trusts for help to clear fuel arrears and enable families to budget with a clean slate.
3) Energy efficiency advice - this is an area of work we have relatively recently begun with start up funding from Santander, which has enabled us to run training sessions on saving energy in the home as well as one to one work on energy best deal and understanding and budgeting for fuel bills.
4) We have a small fund for food and fuel emergency payments from London Catalyst and would like to expand this area of work to include help with emergency accommodation.
