Manchester Refugee Support Network - Tackling fuel poverty Amongst Refugees

The Manchester Refugee Support Network’s 18 month project aims to reduce fuel poverty amongst refugees in Manchester by helping vulnerable refugee families with young children to access benefits and energy saving advice and support, as well as by providing awareness training to refugee community organisations in order to extend the project's reach by building capacity across communities. The overall aim of the project is to have a direct and lasting impact on fuel poverty amongst refugees by helping them achieve affordable warmth. The project will run drop-in advice services staffed by a part-time Advice Worker/Trainer with the support of 3 volunteers. The staff member will also develop, coordinate and help run an awareness programme for refugee community organisations with the support of the Greater Manchester Energy Advice
