The aim of the ‘A Sure Start to a Warm Home’ project is to educate families with younger children on the solutions to fuel poverty and fuel debt with the overall aim of removing them from fuel poverty and/or avoiding the future fuel poverty trap. In the short term, the project will equip families with the knowledge to be able to reduce their fuel bills and maximise their income. In the longer term, by training Sure Start Centre staff, the project will allow them to continually provide advice and support to their clients and future clients.
