North Staffordshire Warm Zone - Fuelling Independence - Affordable Warmth Advice

The North Staffordshire Warm Zone project aims to employ a Benefit/Energy Advisor and a part time emergency coordinator to provide benefit health checks/income maximisation and energy efficiency advice/measures by providing a comprehensive advice service to all homes in fuel poverty in the target area. The service will operate via referral from their key partner agencies who deal with some of the most vulnerable customers. The advice covers the following key activities: Full income check, advice and help to claim benefits due and further action to secure if not awarded at first stage (includes appeal work and also carers benefits associated with the person cared for). Full assessment of any other energy/fuel issues including: check on fuel supplier/any arrears to be managed/ tariffs etc other help available such as grants/help to claim grant
