The Quarriers project aims to build from the learning gained from two previously funded Scottish Energy People Trust Quarriers projects, M-Power which promoted energy efficiency to the people that Quarriers supports and HEAT which included strategies for energy efficiency, budgeting, benefits available to help with energy saving strategies etc. These projects identified a need for much more intensive support to young homeless people who are moving into their first home. The HEAP Phase 2 project will provide a structured group work programme providing practical skills, knowledge and advice on how implementing energy saving strategies can help with budgeting and provide start up packs to help relieve the financial pressure of 100 young homeless people, currently supported by Quarriers housing support services, move into their first home.
