The ScottishPower Energy People Trust funded the HEAT (Homeless Energy Action Team) project in 2009 and HEAT Phase 2 project in 2011. Over the lifetime of these projects, over 200 young homeless people benefited from energy efficiency advice, benefit and budgeting support and improved practical skills and experience. The continuing economic difficulties combined with changes to welfare reform have further exacerbated the challenges faced by young people experiencing homelessness. As a result, Quarriers HEAT project are seeking a grant to deliver support to a further 100 young homeless people.
