The Reducing Fuel Poverty project aims to support families who have fuel related debts in the South Bradford area by promoting the maximisation of family income, minimising fuel debt and promoting fuel savings. Maximising income will be achieved through Welfare Benefits Checks to ensure families are receiving all they are entitled to. For families who have unmanageable fuel debts minimising fuel debt will be achieved by helping clients apply to Charitable Trusts for financial assistance. Promoting fuel savings will be achieved through helping clients achieve the most economic fuel supplier, and be more energy efficient by applying for EEC grants where applicable. A combination of home visits and appointments at their premises will be undertaken. The project will employ one part time worker.
