South Hams Citizens Advice Bureau - Income Maximisation Project

The project is an income maximisation programme which uses a specialist benefits caseworker to identify additional income for young families, young people under 16, people with mental health problems and lone parents. The aim is to link up with the local youth enquiry service, home start, the local credit union and local parent support groups to run outreach sessions to raise awareness of entitlements and grants that might be available and to assist in the claiming of those entitlements and encourage take up. Outreach work will take place in community locations accessed by young people, through health visitors and GP surgeries.
