This community insulation project in an area, which is ethnically multicultural and has multiple deprivation. Housing stock built in the 1960s and 70s has low levels of insulation and uneconomic heating systems. The project plans to promote the importance of insulation and energy efficiency in the residential estate and to encourage householder take up. To secure efficient and cost effective insulation options for the residents, e.g. loft insulation, cavity wall insulation etc; by putting installers in touch with residents. To reach those residents who may not have considered or been discouraged from installing insulation due to cost, lack of awareness, language barriers, technical difficulties, practical issues, old age, gender or ethnic background. The project will reduce overall energy demand, carbon emissions and energy bills; thereby helping to combat fuel poverty in the area.
