With a grant from Scottish Power Energy People Trust, Tassibee will work with the BME community in Rotherham to improve their understanding of keeping warm structures. They will work in partnership with other local BME organisations to identify BME families in rural and deprived postcodes in Rotherham. Advocacy workers and community researcher/trainers will visit these families and assist with applying for available fuel benefits, train them how to use modern heating technologies such as boilers, sourcing for cheap energy supplier on the internet and setting up direct debits. Advocacy workers will also assist in referring families to the available benefits which they may not be aware of.
