This project is aimed at helping those most vulnerable (elderly, financially poor, health poor) who are living in mobile park homes. Park Homes Sites were marketed as being affordable housing and mainly house those over the age of 55. In realistic terms, park homes are wooden or sometimes metal boxes, which are expensive to heat and do not keep the heat in due to lack of insulation. The make up of the park homes means that they can usually have expensive forms of heating (lpg) or electric heaters and have no insulation to keep them warm, which also causes condensation. All of which aggravates or caused cold and damp related illnesses such as respiratory, cardiovascular, muscular diseases. These properties can be insulated using an external render offering a 50m insulation, blown in roof insulation and floor insulation, which improves the heat comfort level and reduces fuel bills hence alleviating fuel poverty. This project will work with partners and stakeholders including Health Through Warmth (Npower), Age Concern, British Red Cross, Primare Care Trust.
