The Youth Action project aims to engage and empower young vulnerable people to tackle fuel poverty, through ground level research with families and peers, looking at their energy consumption habits and providing ideas and solutions. These workshops initially will be partly run by the fuel advisor and it is hoped will be taken over, in part, by the young people themselves advising on how to tackle fuel poverty and the reduction of energy waste based on the research results through the employment of a part time fuel advisor. The advisor will be able to advise on grants available, sources of advice and ways of saving energy and reducing fuel poverty.
